Aristocrat Leisure experienced a phenomenal 2023 financial year, achieving remarkable economic outcomes.
This Australian gaming leader witnessed a surge in earnings, surpassing projections. Their post-tax income reached an exceptional AUD 1.33 billion for the year concluding in September 2023. This signifies an increase of more than 20% compared to the 2022 financial year.
Fueling this triumph was a robust income flow. Aristocrat Leisure generated a substantial AUD 6.3 billion (USD 4.1 billion) in operational revenue for the 2023 fiscal year. Their fundamental profit, calculated as earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA), hit AUD 2.1 billion.
The corporation observed expansion across all its primary financial metrics. Even when excluding non-recurring events and concentrating on normalized data, revenue still ascended by a respectable 13% compared to the 2022 financial year. Earnings per share displayed even more notable growth, jumping by over 26%.
Despite these favorable outcomes, the company’s share value experienced a minor decline. Trading at AUD 39.48, the stock was down AUD 1.14 from the corresponding period the prior week and underwent a marginal 1% decrease since the previous day’s closing.
Aristocrat Leisure ascribes a significant portion of its 2023 achievements to a considerable boost from the Americas. The area yielded a AUD 14.33 billion rise in profit after tax, with North America surfacing as a principal catalyst. This was propelled by a 26% expansion in Aristocrat Leisure’s direct sales of gaming devices in the region. They also witnessed substantial growth in their Class III premium offerings and Class II gaming activities, with installations expanding by over 64,000 units, signifying an 8% leap.
Expansion was not confined to the Americas. Aristocrat Leisure’s Class III offerings also gained momentum in Asia and Europe. The relaxation of pandemic-related limitations revitalized the Asian gaming industry. Macau, for example, observed a remarkable 400% year-over-year revenue surge in October.
The high-roller company experienced a banner twelve months, propelled by strategic collaborations, crucial personnel additions, and enticing product launches. They onboarded a fresh financial chief to supervise their fiscal expansion and even secured a sought-after sponsorship as the exclusive gaming machine associate for the forthcoming Las Vegas Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Aristocrat’s chief executive, Trevor Croker, was justifiably pleased. “These outcomes are outstanding,” he stated. “Our forward movement is a testament to the robustness of our product portfolio and the reality that we are active in steady, expanding sectors.”
Further amplifying their string of successes, the company garnered three accolades at the previous month’s Global Gaming Expo held in Las Vegas.
