The web address “Betting.Online” was purchased for a staggering $400,000 by the same organization that procured “Casino.Online” in 2017 for more than $200,000. This purchase emphasizes the escalating desire for top-tier domains within the internet gaming sector.
The agreement was verified by domain registrar Radix and establishes a fresh benchmark for a generic top-level domain (gTLD) sale. The exchange occurred on escrow.com, a reputable platform for domain transactions.
Patrick Gerhard, head of Casino.online, indicated that obtaining Betting.Online represents a substantial move for the company and aligns flawlessly with their brand objective. They intend to utilize the “.online” domain to further strengthen their standing within the industry.
This sale, coupled with the prior acquisition of Casino.Online, illustrates the expanding curiosity and financial commitment from wagering enterprises in securing valuable domain names to cultivate a robust online presence.
A global online media firm recently divested itself of three iGaming domain names and associated platforms – Casino.se, Casino.gr, and Casino.pt – focused on the European market. The sale brought in an initial sum of $4 million.
Separately, the Gambling.com Group has debuted Casinos.com, a domain name it purchased in November 2022. Functioning similarly to Gambling.com, the website acts as an affiliate, offering users affiliate links to internet casino sites, promotional offers, and evaluations.
