Codere Online has debuted its platform in Buenos Aires, signifying a major foray into the Argentine market.
The firm, recognized for its internet gaming and sports wagering products, obtained a five-year permit from the Lottery of the City of Buenos Aires (LoTBA). This authorization enables Codere to provide its services through codere.bet.ar, contributing 10% of its gross gaming income to the LoTBA as stipulated in the contract.
Inhabitants of Buenos Aires aged 18 and above can now utilize Codere’s platform via desktops, tablets, and smartphones. Moshe Edree, Managing Director of Codere Online, stressed that this rollout is a crucial element of their corporate plan, bolstering the Codere Group’s footprint in Argentina. He underscored the group’s extensive background in the nation, having commenced operations in 1992 and presently managing 13 bingo venues in the Buenos Aires Province.
Codere’s trajectory in Argentina commenced in 1992 with the inauguration of its inaugural bingo hall in Buenos Aires, subsequently integrating slot machines in the late 1990s. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, the enterprise operated 6,861 slot machines and 11,692 bingo spots across its 13 sites in Buenos Aires. Although the pandemic necessitated temporary shutdowns, Codere’s gaming establishments were granted permission to reopen in December 2020, enabling the company to recommence its activities.
Codere Online presently functions in five territories: Spain, Italy, and, notably, overseas in Mexico, Colombia, and Panama.
