Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) and the FanDuel Group have joined forces to bring the excitement of equestrian competition to a broader demographic. This long-term collaboration encompasses numerous facets of FanDuel’s sports wagering, advance-deposit wagering (ADW), and television broadcasting.
The arrangement enables FanDuel patrons to place bets on horse races directly via FanDuel’s interfaces, leveraging technology and services furnished by CDI. Furthermore, FanDuel will become synonymous with the Kentucky Derby, securing non-exclusive sponsorship privileges for the legendary event.
Both organizations express enthusiasm for the alliance. CDI’s Chief Executive Officer, Bill Carstanjen, views it as a conduit to deliver their premium racing material to FanDuel’s extensive sports betting clientele. He posits that their collective proficiency will captivate an entirely new cohort of racing aficionados.
The pact also permits FanDuel to utilize CDI-owned racing content across its American platforms and bestows upon them television and media entitlements to disseminate CDI races on FanDuel’s proprietary television network. Commencing in January 2023, FanDuel will employ CDI’s technology and services, facilitated by United Tote, to drive the betting on its US platforms, encompassing FanDuel Sportsbook and TVG.
FanDuel is diving headfirst into the equestrian realm! Their newly launched platform, FanDuel TV, will showcase top-tier racing programming, boasting exclusive broadcast agreements with Churchill Downs, the renowned venue of the Kentucky Derby. Amy Howe, the head honcho at FanDuel, is confident this endeavor will revolutionize the field, forging a streamlined wagering system for their clientele and enticing a fresh wave of enthusiasts to the world of horse racing.
